1. Kicking off the Galatians series
As most of you should know already, our first book series for the year will be on the Book of Galatians and we will be dedicating 15 weeks to studying this book in extensive detail. This book in particular is awesome to read because this epistle encapsulates themes that are all too familiar to us who live in a world where we value our freedom.
We value freedom and autonomy in this society. The freedom to make choices. The freedom to determine our own destiny. The freedom to do whatever we want, so long as we don’t hurt others. But ironically, our individualistic culture’s understanding of freedom enslaves us and blinds us to our ongoing rebellion against the God of all creation. It blinds us to see that living independently from God is living a life that is sub-par of the standards that God has called us, those who are made in the image of God.
True freedom comes from being set free from our bondage to sin, learning to live in delightful obedience to the true God, and this is the solution that we see in the book of Galatians. True freedom is given us through the person and work of Jesus Christ, and it is a freedom that enables us to connect more intimately with the true God, who has made us to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever.
Get excited ACG! This will be a long, but satisfying ride as we immerse into this book!
2. Sign up for membership and baptism courses, if you haven’t already!
GracePoint is running membership and baptism courses for those of you who have been here for a while, and have yet to officialise your membership here at our church or have yet to be baptised. We run these courses to help you understand what it means to be a member here at GracePoint, in terms of our shared mission and vision, our beliefs about church and ministry, our leadership structure, our expectations of each other, and how we can together partner in serving God’s mission. This course exists to encourage you and strengthen you as you take this step of partnering with us as a member at GracePoint in serving the ministry and mission of Jesus.
So if you want GracePoint to make a commitment to you by helping you to grow in your walk with Christ and for this church community to walk alongside you together, then make a commitment by partnering with us and complete this 2-day course, and you can do this by filling out the online application via the link provided.
